My ultimate goal has always been—and always will be—connecting with patients and providing a meaningful, rewarding and educational experience. Many of you have spent "a little too long" in the exam room catching up like old friends and laughing as we discussed your dermatologic issues.
As your dermatologist and hair restoration surgeon, I want to work for you. However, the private-practice landscape has changed in recent years, and I found myself working more for your insurance company. I firmly believe that healthcare should serve the patient first, rather than being delivered through a framework created by insurance companies that dictate and limit what I can and cannot do for you—my patient.

This is a modern practice model that Dr. Osei-Tutu is passionate about and feels will inspire strong doctor-patient relationships. At Osei-Tutu Dermatology, Dr. Osei-tutu blocks out the bureaucracy that has clouded medical care by opting out of Medicare and discontinuing contracts with private insurance companies

For those with private insurance, upon request, we may provide you with an itemized and coded form and the appropriate out-of-network healthcare reimbursement form to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Not all insurance companies allow reimbursement for services.
It is the responsibility of the patient to check with their insurance providers regarding rules regulating reimbursement.

Your healthcare benefits remain the same and your insurance will remain in full effect for medications, labs, biopsies, x-ray, hospitalization, and all services provided by doctors who participate with your insurance. These are paid to centers not directly related to our practice to process and interpret any specimen or radiology.
Patients may elect to use their insurance (with the exception of Medicare HMOs) to pay for any necessary labs or pathology.

Referrals I understand that some patients may not want or be able to pay out-of-pocket for dermatological care. If this is the case, I have created several resources for my patients to find a dermatologist to take care of your needs. Please be sure to call and confirm they accept your insurance plan.
Docs4Hair: I created this website to connect patients to dermatologists who dedicate part or all of their practice of hair loss and hair restoration. The website also lists a number of hair stylists, trichologists, and scalp micro-pigmentation technicians who are sensitive to hair loss patients
Black Dermatology Directory: I created this website to connect patients to dermatologists of African descent around the world, accounting for less than 3% of all dermatologists.
